Architecturally Unique
Please note, each edition we feature the work of a unique architect. These properties are usually NOT currently for sale, but are included to help inspire readers as to the talent that abounds when a good architect’s mind meets the imagination of a unique property person, and something that little bit special is created by the synergy.

Myoken-San Worship Hall Glass Floor
Walking on this first floor with seemingly nothing between you and a twenty foot fall requires contemplation
Given the Kaizen heading of this Unique Property Bulletin it is apt that we consider some genuinely outstanding architecture from Japan, and as our preference of choice – the brilliant mind of Shin Takamatsu. Specifically his work designing the Myoken-San Worship Hall. This is a marvellous and inspirational transformation of the desires and wishes from the client being transformed into efficient architecture of beautiful design. These words are the guiding philosophy of Shin Takamatsu. There are so many exceptional parts to this building such as the importance of utilising the tall cedar wood trees that were cut down whilst clearing the site. These magnificent tree trunks have been incorporated within the inner structure. Another aspect is the first floor which is made of plate glass and is interesting to walk upon. Further details for the Myoken-San building can be found here. Please consider contacting Shin Takamatsu Architects: click here.

From 208 Unique Properties Per Year In 2015 – To Over 500 For 2016
This edition is the final one for 2015. In the past few weeks we have reduced the frequency of the main Unique Property Bulletin. To balance this, the Facebook and Twitter newsfeeds have been increased and revving up with almost daily additions. We hadn’t expected the extra social media to have such a positive impact. Already two folk have bought their unique properties from the FaceTweet links…
Twitter: Regular Additional Lots – Click Here
Facebook: Regular Additional Lots – Click Here
These social media elements have ADDITIONAL buildings to complement the content, features and articles within each Bulletin. For those readers who are new to this publication, it is run by volunteers and on a not-for-profit basis. The aim is to share information on unique property with others of a similar enthusiasm and disposition.
As well as evolving to the point where we can present 500 unique properties instead of the old 208 a year, the longer publication frequency has really helped ease the pressure on our helpers. But we are still down one and a half volunteers from a year ago, and have had to think long and hard about the possibility of going offline for a while. Our good friend Sam decided to do just that with her popular What Sam Saw Today property website. After reviewing the way the Bulletin is put together we think there is a workable solution to avoid taking a sabbatical and making this site dormant. Instead we are on the Kaizen path…
Problem solving and continual improvement. So to relieve some of the inexorable pressure on our small huddle of volunteers and to free up time for related projects we are going to commit to 12 editions of the Unique Property Bulletin for 2016. That will mean one full Unique Property Bulletin once per month for 2016. We will up the Facebook and Twitter additions to as near daily as possible in order to keep us over the 500 unique properties a year (Facebook + Twitter: 300 & Bulletin 208). The main effect will be to ensure we can keep going and not have the souls here burn out.
Also, there is something special about the emails, telephone calls and relationships built up between many readers and this end of the website. Not to mention the huge buzz whenever someone manages to buy that elusive and unusual home. So much promise at a new adventure. It is almost unthinkable to halt that enjoyment and suspend this website for any duration.
Looking to the future, in order to ensure this website isn’t overly reliant on our small band of volunteers, we will be making best efforts to employ a couple of staff writers starting sometime in 2016. To fund this we shall be devoting more energy to rustling up a few more Unique Property Syndicates. In the past, some of our share of the surplus syndicate funds have gone to keeping the Bulletin free. This publication will remain free. Though it is likely we may need to take on some advertising from mainstream estate agencies to help augment the salary for new staff writers. That is unlikely to impact adversely on the Bulletin. Going forward our intent will be for the main monthly edition to have more of an e-magazine type feel to it. We will be adding extra content to each Bulletin in due course. More details of that in the new year. All in all we hope this latest evolution of the Unique Property Bulletin will be the very model of continual improvement. In one word: Kaizen.
So that you don’t miss out on the new monthly publication frequency, it may be a good idea to subscribe to our Bulletin email “Alert” service…

The rest of this particular section of this Bulletin is devoted to illustrating for folk who have not yet utilising our Facebook and Twitter newsfeeds that there are additional properties, almost on a daily basis that appear on our social media feeds in parallel to the main Bulletin. We weren’t too sure of Facebook nor Twitter and are very recent converts. But have to confess they are very good in helping let many more people know about unusual buildings for sale. Some social media pictures can go on to cause 2,000 to 3,000 extra visitors to the main Bulletin in a day. That was a very pleasant surprise. Some examples of the hundreds of recent extra properties featured via our social media newsfeeds below.
The Point?
80% of the undernoted would not normally have reached the main Bulletin.
Simply because as not-for-profit entity run by volunteers – time is at a premium. Plus the space in each Unique Property Bulletin is finite. However, it is very important to us to ensure readers have as much chance as possible to find their ultimate home. Hence the excitement here at being able to substantially add to the overall number of unique properties we can bring to your attention. At first we weren’t keen on Facebook/Twitter, but with two folk already having bought their next building projects via this additional feature, we are becoming more an more enthusiastic about social media. So if you haven’t already checked out the extra properties we have on our social media, here are just a small sample of recent inclusions…

Future Flats In Fire Station

Controversial. This fire station is being redeveloped in Manchester. Originally cost £142,000 to build the whole thing in 1906. Value has crept up a bit by now! Worth keeping an eye on as there maybe flats for sale depending on which developer progresses the project. A beautiful building with an amazing history. Watch this space!
